Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using PigWatch.org ("the Service"), operated by OptiMystic Holdings Corp. ("we", "us"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Nature of the Service
PigWatch is a public registry that allows individuals to submit reports regarding police officer conduct. The Service provides: a searchable database of police departments and officers; the ability to file sworn declarations or anonymous tips; cryptographic verification of filed reports (SHA-256 hashing and OpenTimestamps Bitcoin anchoring); trust scores calculated algorithmically from filed reports.
3. Platform Immunity & Safe Harbor
PigWatch operates as an interactive computer service within the meaning of Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act (47 U.S.C. § 230). PigWatch is not the author or speaker of reports filed by users. PigWatch does not independently verify, endorse, or adopt the content of user-submitted reports. Reports reflect the statements of their declarants, not the views of PigWatch or OptiMystic Holdings Corp.
4. Sworn Declarations & Perjury
Users who file sworn declarations acknowledge that: a sworn declaration carries the same legal weight as a statement made under oath; filing a false sworn declaration may constitute perjury under the Criminal Code of Canada (s. 131), 18 U.S.C. § 1621, or equivalent legislation in your jurisdiction; false declarations may result in criminal prosecution and civil liability; the digital signature captured constitutes your legal signature; your identity as declarant is stored securely and may be disclosed pursuant to valid legal process.
5. Filing Donation
A $5 donation is required to file a report. This donation is non-refundable and serves as an anti-abuse measure. The donation does not create any contractual obligation beyond the processing of your report. All donations support the operation and maintenance of the Service.
6. Cryptographic Immutability
All filed reports are cryptographically hashed (SHA-256) and appended to an immutable hash-chain ledger. Reports are submitted to OpenTimestamps for Bitcoin blockchain anchoring. Once filed and sealed, reports cannot be altered or deleted — not by the declarant, not by PigWatch, and not by court order — without breaking the cryptographic chain. By filing a report, you acknowledge this permanence.
7. Trust Scores
Trust scores are algorithmically calculated based on the number, severity, recency, and resolution status of filed reports. Trust scores are not editorial judgments by PigWatch. They are mathematical outputs of a transparent formula. PigWatch makes no representation that a low trust score indicates guilt or wrongdoing.
8. Department Responses
Police departments and officers may submit public responses to any report filed against them. PigWatch does not edit, moderate, or censor department responses beyond removing content that violates applicable law.
9. Prohibited Conduct
You may not use the Service to: file knowingly false reports; harass, threaten, or endanger any individual; impersonate another person in a sworn declaration; circumvent the filing donation requirement; attempt to alter, delete, or tamper with filed reports or the hash-chain ledger; use automated tools to bulk-file reports; register fictitious officers or departments for the purpose of defamation.
10. Limitation of Liability
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. OPTIMYSTIC HOLDINGS CORP. SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO DAMAGES ARISING FROM USER-SUBMITTED REPORTS.
11. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Quebec, Canada, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Quebec.
12. Modifications
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes take effect upon posting to this page. Continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of modified Terms.
